Call us:

We help companies on their path to digitization. To actively engage beyond our influence on business processes, we are also committed to reforesting areas in Indonesia threatened by erosion.

In Germany alone, we print billions of paper invoices each year, causing millions of trees to be cut down, destroying forests entirely. This is why we decided to do more than just save paper with our digital solutions – we want to actively promote reforestation. For this reason, we are supporting Fairventures in reforesting the rain forest in Indonesia. After all, a single hectare of rain forest breaks down and stores 10 times as many environmentally harmful pollutants than our native forests can.

An intact rain forest is of vital importance for all of us here on Earth.

In Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, Fairventures works to protect and rebuild areas threatened or destroyed by palm oil plantation, gold mines, and overexploitation. Of course, this is done in collaboration with locals who are once again using the protected areas for traditional farming. But the project is about more than just reforesting efforts: Local farmers have been provided with digital tools, such as a specially designed app, to quickly and easily document key figures on their fields.

Digital progress and innovation are developments that can go hand in hand with protecting our environment and establishing a basis for the existence of future generations.

The "100 Million Trees" program

Fairventures has developed a reforesting concept that benefits farmers, binds carbon dioxide through photosynthesis, performs an important function for maintaining local biodiversity, and improves the soil. Plus, reforested commercial land is ideal for a favorable microclimate, optimizes the water balance, and makes the environment more livable and resilient. Vegetables, cocoa, peanuts, and spices can be planted between the trees, helping enhance the income of local silviculturists. With this approach, Fairventures actively supports Dayak families involved in farming to improve their living conditions. Training on the field helps pass this knowledge on where it's needed. Fairventures also acts as a link between important players in the wood sector, promoting wood as a climate-friendly alternative raw material for cement and steel.

About Fairventures

Headquartered in Stuttgart, Fairventures Worldwide gGmbH is a non-profit organization active in Indonesia and Uganda with a focus on reforestation and supply chain development.

Our roots in Indonesia go back over 20 years, with decades of strong partnership and friendship. In 2014, we bundled our project activities into our 1 Million Trees pilot program. Together with our local partners, we plant mixed forests in the heart of Borneo to offer small farming families an alternative to deforestation and prevent the spread of harmful monocultures. Nearly six years later, we concluded our 1 Million Trees project in Borneo in 2020 by planting our millionth tree – a milestone taking our vision to the next level. The 100 Million Trees program will continue to proliferate our experiences and successes.
